It is not our intention to amend the accurate study Mercedes Casanegra has made in her book about Ides Kihlen but in daily conversations with Ides, a different vision came out from the one expressed in the prologue of the book.

The Gordian´s knot stood whether the figuration had been given up in seek of Modernity.

I do not consider this was Ides´s idea, same with other great painters such as Jackson Pollock, Joaquín Torres García, among others.

Ides painted abstraction and figuration simultaneously, until her inner self took her back to abstraction definitely.
